Inspired by a section of Hope ll, this rug could be mistaken for a Chinese Art Deco piece. It’s part of my exploration for a new style that can take the place of a traditional Oriental rug. I manipulated the size and repetition of the elements and changed some of the colors. The gold ovals in the field create a gleaming surface. For a border, I used a typical Klimt scroll design in two levels and two colors of pure silk. This rug is a showstopper!
