OUTSTANDING DESIGN. HIGHEST QUALITY.
THE ULTIMATE IN PERSONAL SERVICE.
Since 1999, my company has produced some of the finest rugs in the world. I design rugs for specific interiors, thus creating unique works of art; over 80% of my rugs are one of a kind. When clients see my work, they often say, “I’ve never seen rugs before that look like these.”
My rugs are produced in top-quality natural fibers–pashmina, natural silk, merino wool–by manufacturers who employ only adult laborers. I supervise every order, insuring a level of personal attention to detail that is often hard to find. Thanks for your interest in my work.
– Barbara Barran
I have designed rugs for some of the world’s most discriminating clients: a chateau owner in Normandy, a number of major American artists, the owners of a $100 million Tadeo Ando home, an ambassador’s residence in Jeddah, and, in conjunction with the noted designer Henrietta Spencer-Churchill, rugs for seven presidential suites at the Anjum Hotel in Mecca.
Venice Design 2018
In 2018, the European Cultural Centre invited me to show my work at Venice Design 2018, the largest international design exhibition running during the Venice Biennale. The show is held at the Palazzo Michael, close to the Ca’ d’Oro on the Grand Canal, so I decided to create a piece that would match the grandeur of the space and the culture of Italy.
“Firenze,” a three hundred knot per square inch hand-knotted rug was the result. The piece, a mosaic composed of silk “fragments” of Deruta pottery, is held together by “grout lines” of New Zealand wool. This unique, 9′ x 12′ work of art was mounted in the entry salon to the palazzo.
